Third year essay for module on 21st Century literature, looking at how the body is used and affected by the contemporary in Ali Smith's Girl Meets Boy and Kazuo Ishiguro's Never Let Me Go.

- "A Disscusion On The Representation of Magic In The Faerie Queene and Beware The Cat"

Third year essay for module on Renaissance Literature (1500-1625), looking at the ways in which women and magic are presented as mysterious, threatening forces in Edmund Spenser's epic poem The Faerie Queene and William Baldwin's short story Beware The Cat.

- "The Haunted Body: The Dialectic of Self Identity"

Second year essay for module on Representation and The Body, looking at Sylvia Plath's The Bell Jar alongside artwork by Yayoi Kusama and Andy Warhol, to discuss what we call "self identity". How is our identity created by the communications between the mind, the body and the world, and how is identity broken when the communication between these spheres deteriorates.
